DDR Tournament Rules & Regulations*

1. Signup
a. Registration will take place for the Ubercon V DDR Tournament via online registration at http://www.ubercon.com until Wednesday, March 9, 2005, and in person at Ubercon V via the tournament director at the site up until 5 minutes prior to the event start time.
b. There are no fees involved to compete in the DDR Tournament. However, there is a fee charged for entry into the convention. You *must* have a valid convention badge in order to participate. All entrants not possessing a valid badge at the time of competition will be disqualified.
2. Qualifier
a. Tournament Round Style
1. The qualifier will be a partial round-robin style, using combined total machine score to determine the players who advance to the final round
b. Competition
1. Players will be divided into even groups of up to 5 players, not to exceed 8 groups of 5 (40 players total).
2. Each person in the group will play every other player in their respective group once. The two players in each group with the highest combined score advance to the final round.
c. Scoring
1. The combined machine score will be used to determine the highest ranked players in each group. The combined score is used to reduce the inaccuracy of the scoring system, and to allow for players to have a "bad" song and still compete effectively.
3. Final
a. Tournament Round Style
1. The Tournament Finals will be single elimination. It will be a total of 4 rounds.
2. In the second round, 8 players will compete for advancement.
3. In the third round, 4 players will compete for final round advancement.
4. The two losers in the third round will compete to determine 3rd place BEFORE the final round commences.
5. The winner of the final round will place 1st, the loser 2nd.
6. Each "round" will consist of 2 songs, selected by the person with the lowest combined score from the qualifier round.
b. Scoring
1. The machine score will be ignored for the purposes of the final rounds.
2. Players will advance if the number of perfects scored exceeds that of their competitor.
4. Prizes
a. Unclaimed prizes provided by RedOctane remain the property of Ubercon, LLC for future award.
